EU sues seven low-cost airlines over hand luggage charges
“Have we all experienced the fear that our hand luggage would not fit through the airline’s sizers and we would be charged extra? Today we are taking action against seven airlines that exploit consumers and ignore the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union that it is illegal to charge extra for reasonable-sized hand luggage. This has been confirmed by the recent fines imposed in Spain, which have made it clear that passengers can bring their own reasonably sized hand luggage on board without additional costs.”
BAUC calls for a review of ticket prices at European level.
